Issue of July 20, 2009
This week’s Western Catholic Reporter will be the last before we take our annual four-week summer break. But before we hit the beaches, there are a few more stories we’d like to share with you.
We’ll tell you about Pope Benedict’s meetings with Stephen Harper and Barack Obama.
In Alberta, alumni of the the John Paul II Bible School will celebrate the school’s 25th anniversary at the end of the month. Reporter Chris Miller has interviewed some of those graduates and relates their stories about what made the school so special.
Pope Benedict’s encyclical Caritas et Veritate continues to make headlines. This week, editor Glen Argan has reaction from two Western Canadian Church leaders on what the encyclical means for us.
Read all this and more at the www.wcr.ab.ca on Thursday, July 16 or in the hard copy of the newspaper delivered to your home. This week, delivery of the paper will be delayed to allow inserting of a special advertising insert from the Edmonton Archdiocese.
The next issue of the WCR will be available online on Thursday, August 20. See you then.
